Our 5 step process to hearing aid satisfaction
Without being expertly tailored to your particular needs by an experienced audiologist, hearing aids may cause ongoing frustration, irritation or even discomfort. Our five step hearing aid fitting process is carefully designed to make sure that you are not just hearing better than before, but that your hearing aids are providing you with the highest level of support possible.
Step 1 - Detailed hearing assessment
We pride ourselve on offering in-depth assessments that are more thorough than the free hearing tests offered by other providers, allowing us to make sure that we understand your hearing difficulties and needs fully before we make any recommendations. Because we charge for our time and expertise you can be sure you are receiving honest, impartial advice instead of high pressure sales tactics.
Step 2 - Hearing aid fitting
Unlike most high street audiology clinics, at Zest we understand that just as every patient is unique, so are your ears. To make sure that your hearing aids are set up for your individual needs we perform something called “Real Ear Measurements”, measuring and adjusting the performance of your hearing aids while in your ear to make sure that they are set at the ideal level for you and your needs.
Step 3 - Initial adjustment period
After your hearing aids are fitted you will have some time to test them out in your day-to-day life. You will experience the benefits and will start getting used to the new sounds you can hear. You may find that some sounds feel strange to start with, such as your own voice, or quiet everyday sounds like footsteps. Keeping a record of any improvements or difficulties you notice over this time can be very helpful.
Step 4 - Hearing aid optimisation
After the initial adjustment period you will have further appointments to make sure the hearing aids are personalised based on your real world experience. At these optimisation appointments your audiologist can fine-tune the sound and fit of your hearing aids to ensure that you end up with the best possible results. There are no limits to the number of appointments you can have during this stage and we will see you regularly until you are happy and comfortable with your hearing aids.
